Our Events

The Kitchen Chick invites you to browse our calendar of upcoming classes and events. Our cooking classes are uniquely themed, including holiday favorites, southern specialties, seafood delicacies, and so much more! You can learn to make what you love! To ensure you get the most out of your experience, we keep our classes small so that our instructors get more one-on-one time with you. But this also means they fill up fast! So when you see a class that piques your interest and fits your schedule, contact us to reserve your spot.

Cooking Class: Gulf Seafood – Feelin’ Crabby! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Gulf seafood is all about latitude & attitudes! Chef Bailey Glover will teach you how to properly cook & prepare delicious fresh seafood dishes! We're feelin' crabby, how 'bout you? You will learn to make a corn, bacon and jumbo lump crab soup. Next, you will pan-fry crispy soft shell crab in a classic butter sauce. You'll also learn to make a crispy crab cake accompanied by a creamy remoulade sauce. Finally, we'll turn ripe summer strawberries into a rich mousse topped with chantilly cream. Life on the gulf coast sure is tasty!

Cooking Class: Southern Biscuit Saturday! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Buttery, flaky, and tender - the hallmarks of a great biscuit! Join Chef Bailey and learn to master the art of baking big southern biscuits! She will teach you biscuit basics and then show you how to make a seasonal fruit jam from scratch, cinnamon pecan compound butter AND finger-licking herb-crusted crispy fried chicken drizzled with sweet heat buffalo syrup! We're throwing a big 'ol biscuit breakfast baking party!

Teen Summer Cooking Camp: Teen Sous Chef Training Camp! @ The Kitchen Chick

Enroll your budding chef in The Kitchen Chick’s Summer Camps & Classes!
Teen Sous Chef Training Camp! Teens (ages 13-17 years old) will move beyond the basics and master fundamental techniques in this hands-on cooking camp! Sous chefs in training will hone their knife skills, learn and execute specific cuts, properly measure with precision (and why it’s so important!), practice kitchen safety, master the classic mother sauces as well as searing, sautéing and frying. Chefs will use their newly acquired skills to craft delicious dishes from scratch each day! Successful chefs will be invited back to assist as an official Kitchen Chick Sous Chef with the remaining camp programs and classes. 🙂
 
These experiences will immerse your child in a safe, educational & entertaining world of food and feed their interest in cooking! Students will learn different cooking techniques, discuss nutrition/healthy eating and practice food/kitchen safety in these deliciously hands on, interactive and encouraging lessons! Your child’s kitchen confidence will skyrocket!
Each camp is 4 days in length, held 1PM-4:30PM, limited to 14 students (7-14 years; teen camp 13-17 years) and led by dynamic duo of certified teachers. Campers should arrive having already eaten lunch, wearing closed-toe shoes and long hair secured back. The Kitchen Chick will provide aprons for each child to wear and all supplies and tools. Each student will receive all recipes prepared during their session on their last day of camp.

Children can register for any number of weeks during the summer – pick one or two weeks, or sign up for all five! The cost for each one-week (4-Day: Monday, Wednesday-Friday) session is $275 per camper. The Kitchen Chick offers a $25 discount when enrolling a sibling in the same session. Each session can accommodate up to 14 campers. Payment due in full at time of registration.

Session 2: Bake & Be Happy! Mini chefs will be baking up a storm in this session! Menu includes mile high honey butter chicken biscuits (watch out Whataburger!); wacky chocolate chip pretzels; sweet cinnamon crunch kissed bagels with homemade honey roasted pecan schemer; savory summer BBQ chicken pizza with homemade ranch dipping sauce; addicting caramel delight cookies; Popeye-approved spinach artichoke wonton cups; perfectly baked butter cake; savory ham & cheese soufflé; double-chocolate Hepburn brownies (the original celebrity recipe!); light & airy cheesy herb popovers smothered with compound butter; over-the-top chocolate cheesecake swirl cupcakes; pigs in a blanket from scratch; atomic pizza bombs; coffee-talk chocolate swirl babka; classic banana bread; overloaded twice-baked potatoes; ooey-gooey chocolate marshmallow pretzel bars; and traditional sugar cookies!

Session 3: Little Italy! Mini chefs will take their appetite across the Atlantic and land in Italy! Menu includes creamy fettuccine alfredo topped with cheese-stuffed meatballs; homemade garlic butter breadsticks; fluffy-not-stuffy cheesecake; hand-rolled mini meatball subs; cheesy pull apart bread; ravioli from scratch stuffed with homemade ricotta and smothered in a traditional marinara sauce; silky olive oil chocolate mousse with whipped cream (trust us, this will knock your socks off!); crispy fried arancini balls with herb lemon dipping sauce; cheesy chicken garden pesto pizza; refreshing Sicilian granita (Italian ice!); savory tomato bruschetta atop homemade crostini wheels; panzanella summer salad with homemade garlic croutons; quick & easy English muffin personal pizzas; savory sausage Stromboli; and classic canoli filled with cream and garnished with chocolate shavings!

Cooking Class: Kids Hogwarts Banquet! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Calling all wizards and muggles! Chef Bailey Glover is conjuring the tasty treats from Hogwarts! Your child will learn to make golden snitch cheese balls, a slithering Nagini snake calzone and decadent chocolate cauldron cakes. The class will also brew a batch of homemade butter beer! The class includes everything, so students can leave their wands and robes at home. Spells (aka recipes) will be shared with attendees before they depart on their brooms. This class is full of magic and charms!

Kids Cooking Class: Road Trip Through America! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Chef Bailey Shinn is taking mini chefs (and their appetites!) on a cross-country road trip to sample flavors from all over the USA! Chefs will learn to make crispy Baja fish tacos with fresh salsa and tortillas from scratch, homemade pretzel dogs topped with quick pickle relish & honey mustard and flaky apple hand pies drizzled with scratch-made caramel sauce! Recipes will be shared with attendees before they depart on their next adventure. This class is filled with all-American favs!

Session 4: Brunch Bunch! Mini chefs will rise & shine when they learn to prepare these breakfast-brunch-lunch dishes! Menu includes summer strawberries & cream scones painted with lemon glaze; traditional bacon, egg & gruyere cheese panini prepared with a twist; summer fruit & yogurt parfaits layered with homemade granola; French crepes with fresh peaches and cinnamon spiced whipped cream; fresh baked lemon poppy breakfast bread loaves smeared with cinnamon compound butter; over-the-top cheesy tater tot hot dish (casserole!); hot chocolate waffles topped with homemade whipped cream; classic huevos rancheros with homemade tortillas, ranchero sauce and a fried egg; sweet Cinnamon Toast Crunch squares; flaky, buttery mile high biscuits; Tex Mex crunch wrap supremes with avocado; healthy-ish chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies; train car breakfast bread; homemade everything bagel knots with garlic herb schmear; sugar cookies kissed with chai spice; and we’ll share the secret to perfect, fool-proof scrambled eggs!

Session 5: Summer Lovin’ Comfort Food! Mini chefs will love making all kinds of tasty foods using seasonal ingredients (even some from Galveston’s Own Farmers Market!)! Menu includes grilled bacon smashburger sliders with homemade mayo; summer peach cobbler cups with real whipped cream; crunchy garden salad with homemade ranch and croutons from scratch; mini corn dog bites with lemon tarragon aioli dipping sauce; all-American cheeseburger clouds; creamy strawberry cheesecake bites; spicy glazed popcorn broccoli (surprise, you’ll love it!); authentic Chicago style garden dogs (dragged through the garden!) with crunchy quick pickled veggies; traditional margharita pizza with heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil; classic sugar cookies; cheesy summer squash gratin studded with crispy bacon; rustic fresh fruit tarts; cool & creamy chicken salad sliders on Hawaiian rolls; baked Cheezit-style herby crackers with roasted garlic hummus; poolside avocado grilled chicken club on sliced homemade white bread loaves kissed with honey mustard; classic backyard bbq mac n’ cheese; and dreamy strawberry ice cream sandwiched between freshly baked ginger cookies!

Kids Cooking Class: Baking is Happiness – Goodies! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! A little sweet, a little savory and a lot of FUN! Chef Bailey Shinn is sharing fool-proof recipes for young bakers to master! Chefs will learn to bake a lighter-than-air flourless chocolate cake roll, traditional deep dish Chicago-style cast iron pizza, homemade “Hostess” chocolate cupcakes with piped icing and savory cheese & herb bread basket muffins! Recipes will be shared with attendees before they depart on their next adventure. This class is filled with sweet & savory goodies!
