Our Events

The Kitchen Chick invites you to browse our calendar of upcoming classes and events. Our cooking classes are uniquely themed, including holiday favorites, southern specialties, seafood delicacies, and so much more! You can learn to make what you love! To ensure you get the most out of your experience, we keep our classes small so that our instructors get more one-on-one time with you. But this also means they fill up fast! So when you see a class that piques your interest and fits your schedule, contact us to reserve your spot.

Cooking Class: Rosé All Day Wine Dinner! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! It's a rosé all day summer night here in our classroom kitchen! Chef Mary Bass will teach you how to pan fry fresh gulf white fish and coat it in a light summer corn milk & balsamic glaze topped with an arugula salad tossed in a rosé vinaigrette. Next, you will learn to make crispy rosemary roasted chicken quickly & easily by mastering the spatchcock method. You will also bake garlic smashed potatoes and prepare wilted spinach with lemon. Finally, you will grill fresh Texas peaches topped with whipped mascarpone cheese for a super delish summer dessert! Thanks to our friends at Haak Winery, you will sample wines throughout the class. Cheers!

Cooking Class: Southern Biscuit Saturdays! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Buttery, flaky, and tender - the hallmarks of a great biscuit! Join Chef Mary Bass and learn to master the art of baking big southern biscuits! She will teach you her biscuit basics plus you will make a seasonal fruit jam from scratch and a compound butter! Depending on which day you attend, you will also learn to make two gravies: homestyle sausage and creamy white; or crispy chicken fried chicken honey sammies (ssshhhhh they're better than What-A-Burger!)! We're throwing a big 'ol biscuit breakfast baking party!

$50/person.

August 19: biscuits + seasonal fruit jam from scratch, a coffee butter (trust us, its ah-mazing!) and crispy chicken fried chicken honey sammies!

August 26: biscuits + seasonal fruit jam from scratch, an herb compound butter and two gravies: homestyle sausage and cracked black pepper creamy white!

Cooking Class: Gulf Seafood – Its All About Attitudes & Latitudes! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! On the gulf coast, its all about latitudes & attitudes! Chef Mary Bass is back teaching you how to prepare fresh gulf seafood dishes at home. We'll start the class by making a ripe watermelon & feta mojito salad topped with sauteed shrimp. Next, you will pan fry a coconut almond crusted fresh gulf white fish plated over an asparagus ribbon slaw snuggled next to savory rice pilaf and tasty green beans. Finally, we'll bake sweet apricot and peach crumb-topped pies a la mode in individual cast iron skillets. It doesn't get any fresher than our famous gulf seafood cooking classes!

Cooking Class: Tuscan Wine Dinner! @ The Kitchen Chick
Aug 21 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Join Chef Mary under the Tuscan sun for an authentic Italian meal! We'll start by learning to make a classic panzanella salad full of garden grown tomatoes and fragrant herbs. Next, we'll teach you to make pasta from scratch. We'll cook our fresh pasta and toss it with calamata olives, mushrooms, ripe tomatoes, spinach and artichokes. We'll create a homemade white wine and pesto cream sauce for the dish and finish it with sauteed gulf shrimp. Finally, we'll bake a rustic Tuscan apple cake and enjoy it warm with goat cheese & fig ice cream made locally at Hey Mikey's. Throughout the night we'll sample wines from Haak Winery. Mama mia, this is going to be a delizioso class!

Cooking Class: Sailing the High Seas Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing! @ The Kitchen Chick

Come take a cooking class at The Kitchen Chick! Ahoy! Let's sail away on the high seas! Drop anchor in our popular sugar cookie class! Chef Toni Lynch will teach you her secret recipe for making foolproof sugar cookies here at sea level and how to ice them perfectly. You’ll learn to MAKE, pour, pipe, border, fill, dye, paint and dust royal frosting! Each participant will leave with a dozen adorable nautical-themed cookies, as well as all the recipes, knowledge and confidence to make them at home!
